What we are building, and in what order.

Notebooks are here. Collaboration and AI inside the notebook are in progress. Second brain comes after that. No dates yet; we add them when they are real.

Already here

Notebooks and notes work today.

You can sign in at app.kartoteq.com right now, make a notebook and fill it with notes, tables, PDFs and photos. Everything on this page is built on that base, so we start here. Honestly, this stage is less exciting than the next two, but it is the one you can use today.

Available

What you get on day one

Notes with headings, tables, checklists, code, images and audio. Stacks of notebooks, tags with sub-tags, pinned notes and saved searches. Full-text search that looks inside PDF and DOCX attachments. Version history and a bin that keeps deleted notes for 30 days. You can share a note or a notebook with view, edit or manage rights, comment and mention a colleague, and keep writing in the browser when the connection drops. Import from Evernote, Markdown, Notion and OneNote exports is there too, with a check afterwards, because moves between note apps are rarely perfect.

Working on now

A team on one result, and AI that reads the notebook.

Two things are on our desks at the moment. The first is a notebook where several people collect sources, argue in separate discussions and grow one result document instead of a chat thread. The second is AI inside that notebook: an interview about the goal, proposed sections, two branches side by side and a consolidated document that shows where each line came from. There is no date for either; when we can say one, it will appear here.

Several people, one result document

Sharing a notebook already works. What we are building is the part that comes after the invitation: a designer drops in sketches, a researcher adds interview notes, the discussion about the layout stays in the layout section, and the brief itself lives as one document that the team edits and accepts together. A new colleague opens the notebook and sees what was decided and why, without reading three months of chat. Before this ships we have to check that AI answers a question using only the sources that particular person is allowed to open.

How a shared notebook works

Where we are: the interview, the proposed sections and the separate result document are being built now. Branches and the consolidated document come inside the same piece of work. We will not call any of it available until we have run it on real notebooks with real files and the cost estimate matches the real charge.

Next

Second brain first, then the rest of the list.

After a year of work a library holds hundreds of notes, and the useful connections between them are the ones nobody remembers to look for. Second brain is the first thing we take on once the AI notebook is done, because it needs the same access rules. Everything below it is in rough order of priority, with no calendar attached, and dates will appear only when a feature is actually available.

Every link has a reason next to it: same topic, supporting evidence, a contradiction

Links you draw by hand and browsing the graph spend no AI points

Nobody sees a note they could not open before

Files AI can read, a phone app and a second lock on the door

For organisations: your servers, integrations and billing

This is the order we plan to work in. There are no dates in it. A feature moves to “Available” on this page only after we have used it ourselves on real notebooks, and a date appears next to it only then.

Which of these would change your week?

Write two sentences about the task you are trying to get done and where Kartoteq gets in the way. We read every message. A concrete case from a real project is the most useful thing you can send us, and it is far more likely to move something up this list than a vote for a feature name.
